On that day I handed her a BIBLE as she set under the tree that we cook under in La Flor. A momemt later she started to hand be the Bible back and she said, “I can’t read.” She pulled her hand back and said, “I could hold it to my heart and let GOD speak to me.” I responded, “yes you can.” In His Love, Donald and Pammie

This morning started with the radio ministry. One team member sang a
song, and four others shared testimonies. Later, we went to Pascuala
to continue our work detail on house #24. The guys poured the concrete
foundation while the ladies engaged in more relationship building with
the kids. After finishing the foundation, we headed back to the casa
for lunch. Our second village of the day was Los Laureles. We arrived
and began engaging with the kids while the men cooked soup to feed the
families. The kids really enjoyed getting balloon animals and a few
balloon swords. Other team members played soccer and volleyball and
painted nails. The doctor treated many children who were sick. Gwen
shared a lesson about Zacchaeus and demonstrated the story with some
village children and some team members. The kids and their mothers
really enjoyed her presentation! Pete also shared Gospel Bracelets
with colored beads for each part of the salvation message. It was an
exciting day on the mission field! We are blessed to have had a great
week so far, but we are also sad because tomorrow is our last day
serving these precious people!

Radio was canceled today because unfortunately, the power was out.  But that did not stop us from having a great day!  Part of our team went to Principe De Paz to do a women’s conference with the women of Somotillo.  Kimberly shared a message with the ladies about allowing the Holy Spirit to change our past, using the illustration of “cleaning out our closets,” and we sang worship songs to the Lord.  The other part of the team returned to Pascuala.  The men started the footings on house #24, while the rest of the gang engaged the children in games of soccer and duck, duck goose.  The girls braided hair and spent time with the young children of the village.  After lunch, we went to a village called Palo Grande, which had not been visited in years by BWCM!  The team played soccer and baseball with the kids.  Some team members painted nails and the doctor saw patients needing medicine.  Becky shared the gospel with the children through a Bible story about Zacchaeus, and the team helped the children make a fun craft with visors and stickers. Then Donald gathered the rest of the people and shared the gospel again, using an dramatic illustration with several village children.  Many people prayed to receive Christ.  Afterward, the people loaded up their bowls with chicken stew and enjoyed a hearty meal.  Praise the Lord for full stomachs, changed lives, and a great day on the mission field!

The day started with our drive from Managua to Casa de Shelly.  We arrived, unpacked supplies, and then loaded up the truck to head over to Pascaula.  The doctor was able to see many families, providing aid to those needing medication.  Our ministry began with Bible School for the children, where Becky shared a Bible story about the birth of Christ, followed by the message of salvation.  We made bracelets with the children and then started up soccer and baseball games, which brought a lot of laughter and fun for everyone.  Jessica also shared the gospel with the children after our baseball game.  It is only our first day on the mission field, and our team has really come together to spread the love of Jesus!  We are honored for this opportunity and look forward to an awesome week and all that God will accomplish!

Isaiah’s Commission from the LORD
8And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

Today Pam and I return to Nicaragua after a restful 8 days here in VA.  It’s hard to believe but it’s been a little
cooler in Somotillo than here in VA.  Really excited about all that GOD has in store for us over the next three weeks and two teams.
On Tuesday of next week the team will start construction on a new house in Pascuala, the ladies will start  a Bible Study at Prince of Peace Baptist Church
with 50 pastor’s wives and ladies from the Church.  Please pray for the teams as they travel and that GOD would use each team member.
The pictures are of the latest members of the mission family.  The training center now has 300 chickens with 200 hens that are ready
to go to families in the training program.  Please pray for the training center as we continue to grow.  Very thankful for the VT and Feed By Seed members that
were with us a couple of weeks ago and help guide us as we continue to grow.
How about a clinic up-date, the concrete floors have been poured, all the metal framing inside is complete, septic tank finished.  We are
in need of plumbers and electricians to complete the rough in then we are ready to hang sheet rock.  Thank you LORD for your progress….
Be Blessed, Donald and Pammie

• Planting hybrid corn
• Planting Heirloom Corn, Sorghum, etc…
• Dehydrator
• Poultry and Livestock
• Needs Assessment

Busy as a bee… It has a new meaning to the Feed by Seed team. If the
bees pollinate all of the new seeds that have been planted they will be
busy for a while.

Over the past two days they have planted two plots of corn, a plot of
grain sorghum, built a fruit dehydrator (more on this in a minute),
revaluated the poultry and livestock production strategies, and
conducted an agricultural needs assessment.

Today the team was able to see past plows, seeds and chickens. This
afternoon the team went to the village of Ojoche. Ojoche is one of the
few villages in the area that has made recent agricultural progress and
sixteen families within that village have been receiving agricultural
training and supplies through the training center. The team got to
visit a few of those farms and see the difference agricultural progress
has made on their life.

To put simply one pastor described that he used to struggle to provide
his family with the basic rice and beans. But now, he was able to
provide his family with “a variety of nutrition.”

Today was a combination of a year of work, the investment of the
ministry but most of all saw that when we let God lead our work the
result is an overwhelming amount blessings. The blessing of nutritious
food and a future for the people of Ojoche but also a blessing to the
team to see what can happen when God utilizes your skills and
experiences to fulfill His plans.

Psalm 28:7

English Standard Version (ESV)

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
    in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.

In checking my miles with Delta alone I’m nearing the 1/4 million mile mark.  No wonder I mention ever so often
that I’m tired.  It seems that every time I reach that point GOD brings someone or something into our lives to
bring about “that joy unspeakable.”  Back in April I introduced you to a young lady named Dayna that we met here in Somotillo
at the “special needs” school.  Several of you were touched by her story and responded that you would like to help.  Today I
helped her put in her NEW hearing aids.  To hear her giggle and laugh truly set my heart ablaze.  Every mile flown, every TSA line,
every delay and cancellation made today worth it all. Oh the joy that filled my soul.  We also discovered we can get her in a
speech therapy school in Chinandega.  Reynaldo is going to get some of the young people at Prince of Peace to start working with her also, GOD is amazing.

Tonight when I pillow my head I can truly say, “it is well with my soul.”  Be Blessed, Donald and Pammie

About Nicaragua

Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America. To the north it is bordered by Honduras, and to the south by Costa Rica. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere, partly because of the long civil war of the 1980′s and the devastation caused by hurricane Mitch in 1998. The vast majority of the five million inhabitants live in abject poverty with many suffering from severe malnutrition and starvation.

Our Ministry

This ministry helps people meet their chief need for a Savior, while also helping to meet the critical physical needs of hunger, poor substandard housing, shortage of water, lack of schools and education, lack of churches and pastor sponsorship. We offer general economic, healthcare, and emergency relief. To date we have helped feed tens of thousands of hungry people with hundreds of tons of food.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone with the desire to minister to hurting people in another culture can volunteer! Experience is helpful but not required. The ability to speak Spanish would be a plus, but we always have interpreters who assist in our work. Each team spends about a week in country ministering to the Nicaraguan people in some of the more remote villages. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us to discover if you can become part of this wonderful work.
