A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-3 (ESV)

3 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up

WE NEED YOUR HELP – PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY AND PRAY ABOUT YOUR ROLE IN THIS-

In my 70 years of life and 46 + years of ministry I have experienced MANY different seasons. I have to admit that many of these seasons are forever etched in my heart and mind. I will also confess that there are many seasons I have chosen to forget. I will admit that the most memorable season was when I received CHRIST as my personal Savior and began my journey with HIM.

Two years ago, Pamela and I went through a season with the ministry (Because We Care) that I would rather forget. As many of you might remember, there was a lot of civil unrest in Nicaragua and many of our mission teams had to cancel their trips because it was not safe. I remember sitting at my kitchen table in Somotillo Nicaragua thinking, "HOW IN THE WORLD CAN I FIX THIS?" After several days of allowing this thought to marinate in my mind, I realized this is not my problem because this is GOD’S ministry. How easy it is to turn to the flesh rather than God in a difficult season.

This year, Pam and I returned to the USA on March 7th and have not been back to Nicaragua since. Soon after returning home, we were quarantined for months and have not had any teams from the USA join in ministry in Nicaragua since March 14th. The airport in Managua is closed and all the airlines had stopped flying there even before it closed. I do thank GOD for the Nicaragua team God has allowed us to lead and the work they have carried on through this season. In addition to the airport shutting down, a lot of businesses have closed, and the country as a whole is beginning to shut down.

Early last week I was informed that Nicaragua Baptist has mandated that all formal meetings stop as well as village ministry. Because of these shutdowns people have lost their jobs and there is no work, which means no income. Very much like what is going on here in the states, except they are not getting help from the government or food from food banks.

Here at home, we are more than thankful for the 50,000 meals we were able to distribute throughout the Roanoke Valley by many of our ministry partners during this crisis. We are also more than thankful for our Nicaragua team that has been busy distributing food and doing our regular village ministry. In addition, we are more than thankful for our Nicaragua partners that have helped us obtain the "Manna Packs."

Even with all of these wonderful things happening, we (BWCM) need your help. As you know we have 15 employees, plus the school that GOD has entrusted us with. So far, we have been able to continue to support all the employees and keep the school open. Since the majority of the ministry support comes from our mission teams, and right now we don’t have any mission teams lined up, we need your financial support. To be very honest, right now we are not sure when we will be able to return to Nicaragua or have mission teams join us. Would you please PRAY about supporting BECAUSE WE CARE through your prayers and finances. You can make such a difference in furthering the Kingdom of God and ensuring that Because We Care Ministry continues to faithfully serve both here and in Nicaragua.

You can donate through our website (www.bwcm.org), PAYPAL OR YOU CAN MAIL YOUR BLESSINGS TO:
