I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Philippians 4:13
Mission team members were standing on this verse today as we were on the Mission field for the last time for this visit.  Some were physically tired but still ready and willing to grow his kingdom and give glory to God.   Team members and listeners were ushered into the presence of God through praise and individual testimonies given on the radio.
The village of Pascuala was the first stop where team members engaged the residents in games, hat making, soccer, and various other activities.  Surprisingly, many of the Nica children spoke some English.  It never ceases to amaze us when the people are so thankful for all God’s blessings; even items that North Americans take for granted. Today grownups and children were clamoring for the boxes that held the food packets.  Team members shared God’s love through prayer, testimonies, and sharing the gospel.
After lunch the truck was packed with games, food, caramelo, and an abundance of love for the people of Jinocaujo.  We discovered fewer people at the village than expected due to the high water level of the river.  The team loved on the ones present and left enough love behind to be shared with those not present.
The team is grateful and thankful for a week of God’s blessings, and consider it an honor to have the opportunity to walk out the Great Commission.
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Dear Beloved Child,
Stop trying to figure everything out and let me do my job. I love you and you need to know you are here for a reason; a custom design just for you. I love you and when I watch you play with those kids in the village my heart melts because you’re loving like I love. You make me smile. Don’t worry about everyone and everything around you, because baby it’s all in my hands. Trust that I have a plan for you and never be afraid to be bold in my name, I won’t let you fall. Show the people my love, because I have shown it to you. You’re the God they see. Be a picture of me. The light I’ve given you won’t burn out unless you extinguish it yourself. The only thing holding you back is you. Let go. Let me. Because I’m your Daddy and I’ve got this.
                                                                                                          Love,
                                                                                                                Your Heavenly Father

Come and let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob: He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.  Isaiah 2:3

That is exactly what the Mission Team did today climbing the mountain to Cacau.  The walk up the mountain tested us all in various ways on many levels.  Physically it was very demanding; overcoming gravity and the heat.  Spiritually, the team had time to reflect on God’s great creation, and how blessed we are in America to have a life that is so easy compared to Nica living. We were honored to travel to a place where so few North Americans have had the pleasure to behold. We were able to see how amazing and beautiful Nicaragua really is. The view at the top of the mountain is amazing and to think that not many people will ever see this view.  In addition to the view we were able to walk to a waterfall. After we caught our breath, ate the best-ever peanut butter and jelly sandwiches prepared by Mama Maria, and reflect on the view we had a time of worship in the church. The service was powerful, the pastor was passionate, and the congregation engaged and welcoming.  We were in awe and humbled that the local people honored us by attending a worship service and blessed us with a spirit filled time of worship.

He has made everything beautiful in his time: also he has set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
The Lovell Family

We are all blessed in many ways by GOD. Today a small group was blessed by being given the chance to venture to three different villages; Santa Theresa, Cofradia, and Casa Blanca . I was a part of this small blessed group. In each village we handed out two bags of food per person, items of clothing, and we shared the never ending love of our wonderful Lord. In one particular location we stopped in a school and shared with the children.  One of the largest blessings of the day was to see their faces as we shared the word of GOD with them, and their happiness when we passed out the food and clothing and even a bit of candy. In the other two locations we had a lot of fun playing games such as soccer and running foot races for small prizes. The Holy Spirit was very present with us all day long as we moved from location to location sharing the Lord with people. We are all very thankful for the experiences we gathered today and look forward to seeing what the lord has in store for us on the rest of our mission trip. KK

Today was an awesome day in Nicaragua!! The men spent the morning finishing the new compost along with some yard work while being chased by bees, as the women prepared food for the villages, made water balloons for the children, and packed bags of clothes to share with the people of Nicaragua.
The radio broadcast went well this morning as Lynda Grey, Sterling Smith, Ashley Hall, and Seth Smith, shared their testimonies followed by a word from Pastor Tom. We were also graced by the beautiful voice of a poor Elvis impersonator.
Our afternoon was spent in the village of San Miguelito where we played many games, fed the people, and were able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the village.  We had started out to another village but a huge storm appeared  in front of us and the decision was made to stop and take cover.  The folks that owned the house where we stopped invited us in and told us to use their porch as a shelter and to cook our food.  Tonight during “God Moments” Johanna share how one lady ask her to get more food because she didn’t have “ANY” food in her house.  Voices and Choices

Depending on how you count the days, we are on day two or three of our Nica Trip.  We departed Saturday Morning from Virginia.   A canceled flight left us in El Salvador overnight, a temporary disappointment or a welcome and unexpected stamp in the passport. Sunday, at 3:30 AM, 4 hours after we arrived in the hotel we started back on our journey.    We finally entered Casa de Shelly yesterday afternoon anxious to get out to a village to begin our work.   It was invigorating to jump out of the truck and begin working with the children here again.  They are the faces that have occupied my heart for the past ten months and the primary reason for the return.

This morning was our first walk to the radio station to share our testimonies with the surrounding area and countries.  I fell asleep last night, and awoke this morning ready to share what Jesus has done for me since I was here last, and it was big because I had accepted Jesus during that time.   I was intently focused on the destination and the event this morning that I almost let pass the opportunity to share with my fellow team.  But He gave me the opportunity again, to show a friend the role she played in my coming to Christ through her boldness in the years before and this time I took it.

While we are here to spread God’s word to the people in the villages we visit, to show them that he is good, and has sent us to share and be with them; he does not wait until we get to our destinations to begin to work.  He is working with us and through us on every part of our journey, through the walks to the radio station, through the down time in the common area, through the cancelations and long layovers at the airport and even our everyday at work.  We have just a few short days on each trip to share in Nicaragua, but we have everyday at work, dinners with friends and long lines at the grocery store to share.  Let us not forget those are opportunities constantly present.

Blessings from Casa De Shelly…….First, allow me the opportunity to say thank you to all those that have sent along “birthday wishes.”  Great day working on the “Development Center” beside those that work here everyday.  Very amazed at events that have taken place here over the months as these men seek to take care of a little more than 18 acres.  Through the years we have tried very hard to purchase equipment that we could to help make their jobs as easy as possible.  To the best of my knowledge we have the only riding lawn mower and push mower in the city.  What I didn’t take into consideration is that they have no idea how to take care of or maintain any of the equipment.  I ask that we have all the men work at cleaning up around the facilities and what I saw was 6 men mowing with machetes.  Its what they know and when the equipment failed they resorted to what they know.  In your wildest dream can you imagine mowing 18 acres with a “BIG KNIFE?”  Today I’m verrrrry thankful that I know how to fix all the equipment and get it up and running again.  At some point I’m guessing the men are thankful also.  By the way it was not my idea to strap the battery to the back of the mower.  Its the only one we could find in the city and Angel figured out how to make it work.
Glad to report that we now have 16 baby chicks that are doing very well and at least two more hens that are “setting” and the incubator is full.  I do believe we have turned the corner on production, THANK YOU LORD.
Heading back to Managua tomorrow to meet the team from Faith Fellowship/Church Victorious. Prayers Please

Blessings from a very wet Somotillo, Nicaragua. Pam and I arrived around 5PM after a very long day of travel. The rain started before we even landed, our plane was diverted because of a thunder storm over the airport. How did I know that nothing good could come out of that situation. Very long and slow drive to Smotillo because of the hard rain and flooding. I believe it was the first time I had seen the road outside Leon flood.
Praying for a good nights rest and a busy day tomorrow. Time to survey the farm and schedule the work for our team coming in on Sat. Sure hope those guys like weeding and we might teach them to use a machete. We’ll just wait and see what GOD has planned and we will praise HIM every step of the way.

Pollos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blessings from the USA…..Great couple of days resting (playing a little golf) but glad to be heading back to Nicaragua.  The first week of Dec. we began a very exciting program to train local’s how to sustain life.  I’ll have to admit there have been times of extreme disappointment and lots of discouragement.   I’m very thankful for God’s amazing grace and comfort in the middle of the storm.
Through all my years of serving  God,  one thing I’ve learned very well is that God will  give you the strength and grace to “stay the course.”  I also want to thank all those that have contributed to the “chicken fund.”  We have some of the best “Kept” and “G uarded’ chickens  in Nicaragua.  As of today we are FINALLY beginning to produce more than just eggs.  Its the first step,  if we can sustain the “chick” production then we will be ready for the next step, “rabbit’s.”
Please don’t mistake my venting for complaining, every single step over the past 7 months that brought about some sort of disappointment on the farm simply caused me to close my eyes and allow my mind and heart to look back at CALVARY.  I will say I’m the most surprised that GOD would make a farmer out of a city boy.  This first step is like watching one of your children take their first step or say their first word.  I can hardly wait for the NEXT step and to see what GOD is going to do on the farm.  IHL, Donald and Pammie

Blessings from Casa De Shelly…….Early morning rains,  then the sun came out and I think most everybody was wishing it would start raining again.  Its just that time of the year in Nicaragua and you have to learn to be flexible.  With that said the team headed out this morning after the radio broadcast to a couple local schools to share and engage.  We actually visited one school that I have never been to before and was received with open arms.  Small school with only 18 students, 2 teachers and lots of hospitality.  Lots of fun engaging the students but the real deal maker was a 12 year old young lady on our team that shared her testimony, at least I know all the boys were listening.
At the second school the principle actually scolded me for waiting so long to return.  Once more several shared the Gospel message, the Kingdom was enlarged and God Glorified.
You can never assume anything when you are working in a third world country.  Today we once again cooked a big pot of chicken stew and served it to the people of San Miguelito.  By the end of the day we had two different people show up with only small plastic bags to put their portion of food in.  I immediately thought about a dear friend of ours that has worked for several weeks collecting bowls for us to bring to Nicaragua to help with the feeding program.  I will have bowls for these two people next month when I return to their village.  Thanks TK
Tonight as the thunder roars in the back ground we as a team are praising GOD for all that HE has done and will sleep tonight with joyful hearts anticipating what HE will do through each of us tomorrow if He tarries.   IHS, Donald and Pammie
